Meet your photographer
I want to capture couples who are wildly in love. My goal is to connect with my clients, I want you to feel like you have a friend by your side on your wedding day. While I don't expect us to braid one another hair (though I will fix your hair if it gets out of control in photos);
its important to me for you to like who I am and vice versa. I am after all spending 6+ hours by your side on one of the most important days in your life. Click below to find out more about me.
How do I book you for our wedding?
If you are ready to book with me I will send you a contract & invoice. To secure your date with me a 35% non refundable retainer of the collection (Bronze-Gold Collections) you choose is required. A 50% retainer is due for elopement or civil ceremony packages. This is to compensate me for reserving the date and turning away other clients. The remaining balance is due 1 month before your wedding date. I do not hold dates for clients until the retainer & contract is paid.
How do Engagement Sessions work?
Once you've booked with me the fun begins! Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know one another, for us to capture your love that is the most “you”. If you are a couple who loves beer and pizza, we can have a beer and pizza engagement session. Or if you met on the canal we can do a session there. We will take photos that represent your relationship.
We don't need an engagement session can we substitute it for another session?
Engagement sessions are complimentary, no cost associated with them, so it isn't a transferable service when booked with a collection. Engagement sessions are a way for us to get used to one another and for you to get used to me “posing you”. I am spending one of the most important days of your life with you, it would be nice to have a bit of a bond before the big day. So, let's be extra, and do another round of engagement photos!
We are not great at posing will you help us?
I am here to help guide you. I want you to have fun at your engagement session and on your wedding day and not worry about photos. Each couple requires different guidance when it comes to getting photos taken. I rarely will ask you to look at me and smile, your wedding is about your love and I want to capture that. That being said if your partner smiles like Chandler Bing its best we know that ahead of time and do our best to get that out of there system before the big day. That's why engagement sessions are great you can get to know what to expect
How does a second shooter work/ what is a second shooter?
Great question! When you book anything 7 hours or more a second shooter is included in the collection. They are there for when the partners prep are at separate locations /addresses. They are great during the ceremony to make sure we capture both the brides reaction. In short, they are there to help ensure every detail is captured.
Can we add a second shooter closer to the date?
I would book a second shooter as soon as possible. With the increase of weddings in the next few years it will be harder to find second shooter who are available last minute.
Who is your second shooter?
I try to use the same second shooter but because weddings are in high demand it is hard to always have the same second shooter. I always make sure the second shooters I hire work well with me and are at the same level professionally as me.
Am I able to substitute the second shooter for more hours?
Unfortunately no, the second shooter is there to capture additional things that I may not be able to capture, assist during family photos and get additional shots that I may not be able to.
What happens if you or your second shooter gets sick the day of the wedding?
The benefit of having a second shooter is if I become sick then they can fill it. There is a large community of photographers who are available if sickness occurs. I will find someone to cover if anything happens.
I need help with timeline planning, can you help?
Absolutely, once you have booked me I will send you a questionnaire to get the basics of the day. From there I can help you organize the day. Having photos taken at the best time for lighting is pretty key and I don't expect most people to know about any of that.
How do I know how many hours I need?
It depends on what you'd like captured?
Bride Prep/ Groom Prep
First look- Groom or Parent first look
Detailed shots
Ceremony
Family Portraits
Wedding Party
Couples Portraits
Speeches
First Dance
Cake Cutting/Bouquet toss
Can I add more hours after I book?
Absolutely. You would just upgrade collections.
When will we receive our photos?
You will receive an online gallery with all the best photos for you to share with your family and friends, approximately 8-12 weeks after your wedding.
How many pictures will we receive?
For a 8 hours coverage wedding, you will receive between 400 to 600 edited images. I always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why at Megan Cameron Photography I will choose the best and most significant photos to tell your story. This also depends on how large your wedding is and if there is a lot to capture. If you have a smaller guest list, wedding party, etc. then there is less to photograph.
How much time do you require for photos?
This really depends on your timeline as well, some couples do a first look and family photos before the ceremony. So it depends on what you would like as well as the size of your wedding party & family.
My rough estimate is as follows:
DETAILS & PREP : 1-1.5 HOURS
FIRST LOOK & PORTRAITS : 30 MINS
BRIDAL PARTY : 30-40 MINS
FAMILY FORMALS : 20-30 MINS
People often get overwhelmed with family photo shot lists. I have a shot list to take the stress off of my couples. We will adapt this to work with your family dynamic. If there are other important groups we will save that for the reception. If you have a large family having a second shooter for these shots will be a benefit to call out names and combinations to make it as quick as possible.
Family photo combinations. Each Couple with their perspective family in these combinations.

Do you offer video services?
I do not but I can offer recommendations on companies who do it.
Do you offer photo booths?
I do not, again I can make recommendations or suggest places you can get backdrops or we can discuss me having my second shooter capturing guests for an hour or so during the reception portion.
Vendors
Still in the planning phase and need suggestions on vendors? I think photographers are uniquely qualified to recommend almost all the vendors. From capturing hair and make up to eating some cake at the end of the night we experience it all. If you click below it will bring you to a page of vendors I recommend
